The Connection Between Chakras and Colors

The relationship between chakra and colors was first presented in the 1970s by an English writer and philosopher Christopher Hills. He linked the theory of chakras with light frequencies and vibration.

His ideas promoted through his book Nuclear Evolution: Discovery of the Rainbow Body, published in the 1970s, were vastly accepted. The theory of chakra colors is based on the connection of chakras with the colors of the light spectrum and vibrational frequencies of specific colors.

Chakras are believed to be energy centers within the subtle body, and each chakra is associated with a specific color. The colors associated with the chakras can vary slightly depending on the system or tradition being followed, but here is a commonly accepted association:

Root Chakra (Muladhara): Located at the base of the spine, the root chakra is associated with the color red.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Situated in the lower abdomen, the sacral chakra is associated with the color orange.
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Located in the upper abdomen, the solar plexus chakra is associated with the color yellow.
Heart Chakra (Anahata): Located in the center of the chest, the heart chakra is associated with the color green or sometimes pink.
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Situated in the throat region, the throat chakra is associated with the color blue.
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Located in the middle of the forehead, the third eye chakra is associated with the color indigo or deep blue.
Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Situated at the top of the head, the crown chakra is associated with the color violet or white.
